“The Mother-Baby Program: Shifting from Perinatal Mental Health to Two-Generation, Trauma-Healing”
This presentation will include an overview of mental health conditions during and after pregnancy, with specific focus on the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES), and historical and generational trauma on maternal well-being, parental capacity, and attachment. The Mother-Baby Program at Hennepin Country Medical Center will be discussed as one innovative model of two-generation, trauma-healing.
Jesse Kuendig, LICSW, is the co-founder of the Mother-Baby Program at Hennepin County Medical Center. She received her Master’s degree from the University of Chicago and completed a post-Masters program in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health at the Institute of Child Development at the University of Minnesota. Her training in two-generation trauma-healing also includes Attachment Bio-Behavioral Catch-Up, Circle of Security, and Attachment, Regulation, Competency (ARC).
