Minnesota Clinical Competence Scale
The Minnesota Clinical Competence Scale for Enhanced Illness Management and Recovery (E-IMR) for Co-Occurring Disorders was designed to accompany an integrated model that combines the best practices of IMR and evidenced based practices for co-occurring disorders (sometimes referred to as Integrated Treatment for Dual Disorders or IDDT). This tool allows for the evaluation of practitioners in their use of both E-IMR skills and co-occurring disorders skills. You can download the scale here: minnesota_clinical_competence_scale.pdf
Enhanced Illness, Management and Recovery (E-IMR) Provider Manual
Enhanced Illness Management and Recovery for Co-occurring Disorders (E-IMR) was developed to provide integrated treatment for co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders. E-IMR is a new model that combines two evidenced-based practices (Integrated Treatment for Dual Disorders and IMR) to advance training in integrated treatment for co-occurring disorders, leading to improved client outcomes.
This 842-page manual provides the complete set of strategies and suggestions for how providers can use IMR to help clients with COD address both their mental illness and their substance use. The Enhanced model stresses that practitioners who are using enhanced IMR for COD follow the principles of both IMR and integrated treatment for COD. It also stresses the importance of recognizing clients' stage of change regarding their interest and motivation in making changes in their substance use and developing interventions that match the clients' stage of change/stage of treatment throughout their participation in Enhanced IMR for COD.
